I keep getting a problem when using Dreamweaver Find and Replace – whilst modifying certain PHP files, but mainly with wordpress.

It has become apparent, that the crappy software decides to some how add spaces all over the shop like some random crack head, So if  you go to your PHP / WordPress Plugin / WordPress Theme and get this error:

The plugin generated 2 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

The not to worry! Chances are you’ve got some white space / spaces after the closing php tag!

For those who have been tinkering and are not certain what a closing PHP tag is then this is it:

Custom Category Templates and Custom Category CSS for OpenCart relates to the following tested versions:

OpenCart version(s):  1.5.0, 1.5.0.1, 1.5.0.2, 1.5.0.3, 1.5.0.4, 1.5.0.5

This was tested today on OpenCart v 1.5.0.5 today and was working flawlessly.

Ever wanted to have a custom category template (hard coded elements) On certain categories – or to totally change the layout completely?  Or maybe you’d just like different CSS?

These instructions relate to the default theme of OpenCart but should work for any theme provided you change the default bit with the themes name!

Open: catalog/controller/product/category.php

Find (Line 329):

For our new custom categories we will need to create the templates so that they’re viewable and custom.

Find: catalog/view/theme/product/category.tpl

And duplicate it and name it inline with the naming in the above code, ie category1.tpl etc etc

Just recently on CS5 I’ve noticed how annoyingly long it takes to upload to the server, sometimes 30seconds pause before putting files up onto the web server.

There seems to be a really easy solution.

Goto servers > Advanced > Testing Server : Server Model: {SELECT YOUR MODEL}

For me this is PHP MYSQL

I have no idea why this would make any difference to the FTP Performance but, ohmm it does :S

Is your Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Crashing constantly on load? Maybe you’ve just selected a site to manage and it’s caused Dreamweaver to crash, even when you close Dreamweaver and open it again, Not to Worry!! here is the fix Courtesy of: Adobe Forums

This fix is available for MAC or PC!

Dreamweaver creates a cache file called WinFileCache-********.dat or MacFileCache-********.dat inside your personal Dreamweaver configuration folder (the asterisks represent a series of letters and numbers that might differ from computer to computer). This occasionally gets corrupted causing instability, unpredictable error messages, and even crashes.

To solve the problem, close Dreamweaver and delete WinFileCache-********.dat or MacFileCache-********.dat. Sometimes, deleting this file is not sufficient, and you need to delete your personal configuration folder in its entirety.

WARNING: Do not confuse your personal configuration folder with the main configuration folder in Program Files in Windows or Applications on a Mac. You should never touch the main configuration folder unless you really know what you’re doing.

Finding your personal config file

The location of the personal configuration folder depends on your operating system and version of Dreamweaver. For Dreamweaver CS4, it’s as follows:

• Vista & Win7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\<language>\Configuration
• Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\<language>\Configuration
• Mac OS X: Macintosh HD:<username>:Library:Application Support:Adobe:Dreamweaver CS4:<language>:Configuration

In all cases, <username> is the name of your user account on the computer and <language> indicates the language of your operating system. The language is usually represented by two pairs of characters separated by an underscore, as in en_US (English), es_ES (Spanish), or fr_FR (French).

Earlier versions of Dreamweaver locate the personal configuration folder in a slightly different location. This is where it can be found in Dreamweaver CS3:

• Vista & Win7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
• Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
• Mac OS X: Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Application Support:Adobe:Dreamweaver 9:Configuration

The Dreamweaver configuration folders are hidden on Windows, so you need to enable the option to view hidden files and folders in order to locate them, as follows:

• In Vista & Win7, select Start > Computer > Organize > Folder and Search Options > View. In Advanced settings, choose Show hidden files and folders.
• In Windows XP, select Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View. In Advanced settings, choose Show hidden files and folders.

Once you turn on this option, hidden folders are displayed as dimmed icons to remind you to treat them with care.

Having this annoying little issue with Dreamweaver?

The following translators were not loaded due to errors: Server Model SSI.htm: has configuration information that is invalid.

The fix is really simple, theres a WinFileCache in the App Data Folder that you simply need to rename or delete.

The patch for windows vista to this file is generally:
C:\Users\YOURUSR\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration
